Term 2 Week 5

We found the letter o.

We squeezed oranges to make orange juice.

We covered our o with orange things like popsticks, glitter and patty pans.

We found the letter j.

We made jiggly jellyfish to go into our alphabet book.

The Blue Birds made us some delicious jam biscuits.

We played with cold, slimy, gooey, red, slippery jelly.

Zero the Hero brought us some popsticks and some lacky bands to help us count.  We used the lacky bands to make bundles of ten.

We have been learning about Baptism.  When you get baptised you become part of God's family.

Western Power came out to teach us how to be safe with electricity.

Term 2 Week 1-4

What a busy start of term we have had. My apologies for our lack of posts.  This will be a long one as I try to fit 4 weeks of learning into one post!

We have learnt a lot of new letters so far this term.

We covered our letter g with green glitter.

We covered our d with dots.

We made damper. It was yummy.

There were kisses all around when we learnt about the letter k.

We have been creating some wonderful collages.

In Religion we have been talking about all the things we can do because we are alive.

In Maths we learnt about subitising. Subitising means we can look at a group of things and know how many there are without having to count them. Board games are great practice for subitising because we can read the numbers on the dice without counting them.

We are half way to our 100th day of school. On the 50th day Zero the Hero brought us biscuits to ice. We had to try and put 50 sprinkles on them. It was very tricky.

We have been talking about which numbers are more or less. These crunching crocodiles always try to eat the pile that has more.

We have an airport in our classroom this term.  We have been flying to lots of different places.

Writing menus for the plane.

Hmm,where should you go?

On Derby day we got to wear our favourite sports teams colors. We had a visit from Rick the Rock.  We also got to play lots of different sports games in the afternoon.

We had a visit from a lady that taught us about bush tucker. We learnt that the Aboriginal people used plants for food and medicine. We even got to try some of the bush tucker.

On Good Shepherd Day we planted some bush tucker in our new outdoor space.  Our buddies were a great help.

Making letters from sticks. How clever are these boys?

We love mixing potions so much we have made a potions shop outside.  If you have any smelly or interesting looking plants we could use to make our potions we would love if you could send them. We are going through our supplies very quickly!
