Term 1 Week 5

This week we tried doing some small group activities.

We matched the capital letters to the lower case letters.

We practiced writing our names on the whiteboards.

We used playdough to make our names.

We read books in our book corner.

Mrs B is helping this group to do a rhyming puzzle.

After reading the story 'Chicka Chicka Boom Boom' we decided to make our own coconut trees.  We went outside and collected some leaves for the top of our trees.

These are the trunks for our trees.

Here are some of our finished trees.  Each coconut has one letter of our name on it.
Some of us have very long names!

Miss R built a big coconut tree in our classroom and we can use it to make the letters go up and down the tree, just like in the story.

After listening to the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears we drew a picture and then used the iPad to retell our story.
We used the smartboard to make pictures from shapes.

We coloured in a picture of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  Then we had to match the right furniture to the right bear.  Papa bear had BIG furniture, Mama bear has medium sized furniture and Baby bear had small furniture.

We learnt that Jesus thought his Mother, Mary was a very special person.  There is a special prayer we can pray to Mary called the Hail Mary.  We decorated it and made it look very special so we could take it home and share it with ourfamilies.

We've been saying and practicing it at home every night with the one that came home to our house which has been lovely. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see what you will be learning next.
