Term 1 Week 11

We have made it to the end of term!  It has been a very busy but fun filled term.  The children have already shown themselves to be great learners and I am really looking forward to next term.

Here are a few photos from our last week of term 1.

At the end of last week our buddies came armed with counting activities to help us practice our counting.  Thanks Year 5's we had lots of fun counting.

This week we learnt about the letter c.

We covered our c with cotton wool balls.

We climbed.

We collaged with crepe paper.

We built castles.

We found out who was the tallest and the shortest person in our class by standing people next to each other so we could see who was taller or shorter.

We discovered that you need to make sure both people are standing on the same level or one will look taller than the other...even if they aren't.

Then we got into groups of 3 and tried putting ourselves in order from the shortest to the tallest.

Then we tried comparing pencils to find the shortest and tallest.  It was important to make sure they both started from the same spot.

We are filling Grandma's basket with some healthy food.

Today was Good Shepherd day and we had a day filled with lots of fantastic activities.

First we rode the bus down to Church for a special mass.

Then we listend to Mrs C and Mr B tell us the story and history of our school.

Then we had to create an artwork that represented our school.

Then we walked to a park where Mr B told us some more stories of the people who first came to live in our area.

After lunch with our buddies we had tabloid sports.  We had sack races, hurdle races and egg and spoon races.

It was a fantastic day and I am sure we will all be sleeping well tonight.

Have a safe and happy holiday and we will see you all in term 2.
