Term 1 Week 9 and 10

As Week 9 was such a short week-only 2 days, we decided to put week 9 and 10 together.

We visited Ward House so we could have a go on the ipads.  We discovered lots of fun apps.  We are very good at closing down apps by 'scrunching' the screen.

We made crowns with Signora Leeder.  She teaches us Italian.

We had our 40th day of school.  Zero the Hero must think we are getting better at counting because he keeps bringing us bigger numbers to count.  This time we tried counting in groups of ten so we didn't lose count.

We used the iPads to make a video about the story of Easter. Miss R has picked a few and joined them together to make a movie but is having trouble uploading it.....stay tuned!

This week we learnt about the letter 't'.

We covered our letter 't' with tiny teddies.

Normally you would use a tea bag to make a cup of tea but we used ours to paint the letter 't' in our alphabet book.  Smells yummy!

We made tip trucks that really tip.  We filled them up with lots of different things.

We made turtles with triangles all over them.  Did you know turtles can pull their head inside their shell when they get scared?

We met some new friends.  They are our PATHS friends.  PATHS stands for Promoting Alternative THinking Strategies.  That just means thinking about different ways to solve problems.

We met Twiggle Turtle, Donald Dog, Daphne Duck and Henrietta Hedgehog.  They will be staying in our classroom for a while.

The video cameras on our ipads have been getting a workout the last couple of weeks.  This week we talked about the wonderful bodies gave us and we made a video about the things we can do with the different body parts God gave us.  Stay tuned to see it!

These are our maths flippers.  We use them to help us practice our counting.  We count the stickers on one side and then flip them over to see if we were right.  They are lots of fun.

We read the story Jack and the Beanstalk and talked about how big a giant might be.  We painted things that we think our giant would be bigger than.

After reading Little Red Riding Hood we wondered what food Little Red Riding Hood took to her Grandmother.  We thought of lots of different types of food we would like if we were sick and then we sorted them into foods that were good for us everyday and food that was ok to have sometimes.  We discovered that healthy food is food that comes straight from the farm and is usually not in packets.

Only one week left of school and then we will be on holidays.  I wonder what we will get up to next week?

  1. Wow, Those iPads look like so much fun, and I'm super impressed with how many wonderful 't' activities you all managed to do!
